Jean-Paul received his Bachelor of Arts in International Business Administration from the American University of Paris and his Master of Architecture (MArch) from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He joined his family practice The Cassia Group in 1998 and has since worked on prestigious assignments for heads of state, high net worth individuals, major corporations and collaborated with leading designers, developers and operators in the luxury hospitality and real estate industries.
His hands-on approach to all phases of iconic hotels and commercial / mixed-use developments is further reinforced with Jean-Paul’s extensive experience in the management of lead consultancy agreements. His experience on such projects as the Citystars Intercontinental Heliopolis Cairo, the Shangri-La Hotel Dubai (200m), the Yachting Club Towers Bahrain (385m) , the W Hotel Abu Dhabi, the Dubai Creekline, the Point @ Seef Bahrain, Domino Towers Jeddah (485m), including advisory work on a major site in Santa Barbara, to name a few, is underscored by Jean-Paul’s ability of transforming Client core values into unique and contemporary architectural expressions.
Described as a “thought leader”, Jean-Paul’s designs have been published and were the recipient of numerous coveted awards. Ongoing projects include the global launch of luxury brands CERRUTI, LANVIN, MUGLER and a growing roster of celebrities from the US, Europe and Asia who see in +Cassia a unique vehicle to enhance their brand footprints into the real estate sphere; as well as the Boardwalk which Jean-Paul is designing under the YOO Architecture +Cassia brand with Philippe Starck.
Jean-Paul has collaborated with starchitect designers: Pei Partnership, Michael Graves, Cesar Pelli, Kohn Pederson Fox, and celebrities Isabelle Adjani, Sarah Raferty, Manfred Thierry Mugler, Nino Cerruti, Olivier Lapidus, Anouska Hempel and at YOO with Philippe Starck, Jade Jagger, Marcel Wanders and Kelly Hoppen, among others.
Since 2009, Jean-Paul has assembled great spirits around his practice and proposes branded design services that blend an exciting approach to project ideas, designers and celebrities as well as consulting expertise which combines seamlessly with architecture to create unique projects that truly stand out above the competition. While his late father and founder of +Cassia was preoccupied with “creating buildings”, Jean-Paul’s second generation model is that of “building stories” that resonate with the experience industries that drive cutting edge real estate today. It is not only the lines we draw that matter, or the engineering that follows, but the stories they share and the memories they create which make places special.
As of 2017, Jean-Paul and his stable of brands and creative directors also include strategic associates and partners for the US, Europe, MENA and Asia, which provides the consulting power to drive business development in various markets while being supported with a fleet of architects and interior designs for all local services Developers rely on.
