Sylvain received his Bachelor of Arts (with honours) from the Beaux Arts University in Angers in 1999. During this five year formative period, he explored interior design, photography, sculpture and serigraphy along with his keen interest in furniture and industrial design.
Upon his return to Paris in 1999, he was retained by the world renowned interior design firms of Jacques Garcia (1999-2002), Agnès Comar (2002-2003) and Patrick Nourissat (2003-2005) where he is exposed to the fine art of creating distinctive and memorable settings and experiences. During this time, he participated and led unique bespoke design projects for premium destination hotels and resorts, private residences, corporate interiors and yacht retrofits throughout Europe and the Pacific Ocean.
Examples of his past project experiences include his participation with Jacques Garcia on the retrofit of La Reserve Hotel (Geneva Switzerland, 2003), the Intercontinental Tahiti (Bora Bora, French Polynesia, 2008), the Colisée Hotel (Paris, France 2005), La Lestra (Monte Carlo, Monaco, 2009), several unique private residences in Paris and the South of France (from 2006-2010), Le Logis de la Chabotterie, a two star Michelin restaurant in Saint Sulpice Le Verdon (Francel 2009), corporate offices for a law firm in Beaulieu sur Mer (France, 2009).
In October 2008, Sylvain forms an association with +Cassia and by October 2010, Sylvain is overseeing designs for a private mansion in the Kingdom of Bahrain, developing preliminary studies for a 6,500m2 luxury destination resort hotel located on Tetiaroa Island in French Polynesia, owned by the Marlon Brando Estate and preliminary design work on the Crowne Plaza Hotel within TCG’s City Stars Ketameyah project in Cairo, Egypt.
In December 2010, Sylvain completed preliminary designs for the Dongjiangyuan Hotel in Guangdong (China) in collaboration with +Cassia who performed the architectural designs.
