DOMINO HA LONG BAY | 416,000 m² Integrated Destination Development

Rising 550 meters above sea level, DOMINO Ha Long Bay is a bold and iconic destination development with a total gross built-up area of 416,000 m². Drawing from the elemental geometries of sound, droplets on water, Vietnamese mythology, and the awe-inspiring landscape of Ha Long Bay, the project was conceived as a sculptural landmark – a spiraling vertical city that symbolizes Vietnam’s emergence as a regional and global force.

Originally conceived prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and temporarily shelved in early 2020, Domino has now reemerged as a statement of Vietnam’s forward momentum. With a slenderness ratio of 1:15, its architectural form spirals downward into a ring that offers panoramic views of both sea and city — merging urban intensity with natural tranquility.

Designed to function as an "Alpha Point"—a term reserved for developments that redefine their destination category—Domino aspires to the same cultural resonance as Aman Resorts in luxury hospitality or Walt Disney World in themed entertainment. It is both a semi-urban lifestyle hub and offshore leisure resort, built to host a rich tapestry of experiences throughout the day, year-round.

Domino’s core programming blends destination leisure, entertainment, retail, and culture — designed not only to be seen, but to be heard, felt, and remembered. Its offshore location allows for full integration with the sea, including marina access, yacht berths, and immersive eventscapes.The 416,000M2 Domino Ha Long Bay draws inspiration from the elements of sound, nature, mythology, and geometry. The architectural structure stands at a height of 550 meters, gradually spiraling down towards a ring that overlooks both the sea and the city. With a slenderness ratio of 1:15, the developer aims to create a distinctive destination that symbolizes Vietnam's remarkable progress in Southeast Asia.

The project concept was completed prior to the advent of the Covid pandemic which then shelved the project early in 2020.
