Kohn Pedersen Fox and xCassia collaborated on the design development of a 220,000 sqm mixed-use hospitality development in Bateen, Abu Dhabi. The masterplan comprised 325 residential units distributed across three towers, a 275-key W Hotel, 23,000 sqm of commercial retail space, and a destination-driven retail and leisure strategy. All structures were positioned atop a shared parking plinth, envisioned as a landscaped promenade—referred to as “The Podium”—that housed the retail and commercial components.
The towers were arranged in a circular configuration to optimize waterfront views and establish a strong architectural presence on the site.
Excavation works began and progressed through 2016; however, the project was ultimately terminated in 2023.
