As one of the oldest French fashion brands established in 1889, it was its founder Madame Jeanne Lanvin who conceived of fashion being an enabler of lifestyle environments. Jeanne Lanvin had an innate flair for business, but she was also a visionary. She realized at the time that the success of a fashion house didn’t just depend on its creations but on the spaces around the brand’s creations. During an event thrown by fashion designer Paul Poiret in 1920, Jeanne Lanvin met renowned architect-decorator Armand-Albert Rateau, a graduate from the famous École Boulle. Together they decided to create a pavilion dedicated to the “art of living” / “art de vivre” at 15 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The store offered furniture, rugs, curtains, stained glass, wallpaper, and more in the purest Art Deco style of the times.

Creative Director of XCASSIA and former Artistic Director for LANVIN Olivier LAPIDUS comments: “Jeanne Lanvin was the founder of the concept of lifestyles, so it is natural that in the evolution of the brand, hotels and residential projects play an integral role in its lifestyle expression.”
