XCASSIA conceived this project as a collection of 30 overwater villas, each designed as a four-bedroom private residence of approximately 350 m², set lightly above a pristine Maldivian lagoon.

Inspired by the spirit of Cavalli, the approach moves beyond visual references to extract deeper qualities—sensuality, freedom, and duality—and translate them into a precise architectural language. The villas are defined by calm, horizontal geometries that establish clarity and proportion, while interiors unfold through layered spatial sequences—filtered light, tactile materials, and controlled transitions that evoke a subtle, contemporary interpretation of an “urban jungle.”

Elevated on concrete stilts, each villa preserves the natural marine environment below, allowing the lagoon to remain active, visible, and integral to the living experience.

The cluster is connected through a network of overwater eco-trails, linking each residence to a central wellness pavilion and creating a continuous, immersive journey across the site. Architecture, interiors, and landscape operate as a unified system, where richness is achieved through restraint—material depth, reflection, and shadow replacing overt ornamentation.

The result is a development that is inspired rather than branded, where the influence is embedded in spatial logic and atmosphere rather than surface expression. XCASSIA’s DNA-out methodology ensures that each villa reads as a refined, contemporary sanctuary—balancing expressive interior environments with disciplined external form—delivering a coherent destination rooted in clarity, sensuality, and a timeless vision of escapism.
