client : Confidentialbranding : TBC
services : Architecture Concept & Feasibility Study
typology : Mixed-Use Highrise
location : Riyadh, K.S.A
Set against the rapidly transforming skyline of Riyadh, Al Wadi Gate is a bold new mixed-use development positioned along one of the capital’s key urban arteries. Designed to anchor the future-forward vision of the Kingdom, the project transforms a formerly underutilized site into a vertically integrated and architecturally refined urban landmark. The masterplan is structured around a central high-rise tower with a sculptural silhouette rising to 225 meters, its aerodynamic glass façades catching the desert light and defining a new skyline presence. Supporting volumes flank the tower in a carefully orchestrated massing composition, balancing verticality with permeability and connectivity to the city.
The development encompasses 150 luxury residences, 250 serviced apartments, a 150-key five-star hotel, premium office spaces, and a boutique retail podium, combining to form a total built-up area of 129,000 sqm. Vehicular movement is separated by program type, with dedicated public access routes and elevated VIP drop-offs, ensuring a seamless, efficient user experience. A central arrival plaza integrates native landscaping, water features, and curated art, creating a dignified and climate-conscious urban gateway. While Riyadh’s terrain is relatively flat, site strategy prioritizes solar orientation, shading, and prevailing winds, responding to climate performance and pedestrian comfort. Elevated skybridges and shaded colonnades connect key functions, promoting walkability and reinforcing the project's urban integration.
Below grade, over 2,600 parking bays are distributed across levels and functions, supported by intelligent valet systems and discreet service access. Framing the complex are landscaped buffers and public plazas that open the development to its surroundings while ensuring privacy where needed. Al Wadi Gate aspires to more than architectural distinction—it aims to be a symbol of Riyadh’s next generation of mixed-use excellence: culturally rooted, future-facing, and globally resonant.
